When Adam fell from life into death, God set up a cherubim with a flaming sword (which is the Word of God) to guard the tree of life. You cannot touch the tree of life when you are under rules, regulations and laws. If you are under the tree of the knowledge of good and evil trying not to do evil but good under the consciousness of that fruit, you can have no access to the tree of life.....We will always boast in our weakness and always boast in His grace. I believe in obedience and I believe in living holy and I believe in those things but they have to be fruit. We are called to an obedience of faith (Romans 1:5) not the obedience of the law. It isn’t our good works that produce faith – it is our faith that produces good works. That isn’t just semantics but it is the difference between New Testament glory and Old Testament tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Rob Rufus
