When Adolfo Salazar challenged us to throw a cup here in AZ he linked us up with Ernie Chavez who opened up the lax lounge for the competitors and landed us a great venue to throw the public expo. Jacob Hyatt sponsored the VIP party and an extra day of food. And the community here came together and put any personal beef aside for a peaceful issue free event. Unfortunately some asshole stole a one of a kind mothership fab egg. Its the largest fab egg ever made so well find the thief. It just sucks because it was Adolfos who was one of the people that made this whole thing possible and it happened while he was djing for free. But I cant let that get me down in the face of so much love from the AZ 710 community. Im especially proud of the competitors because I know the stress and anxiety that comes with competing. Three of them will be moving on to the finals to represent AZ in Vegas. I always say though that the times I lost competitions were the times that made me try harder, do better, and learn more. Our goals for these events are to 1. Build community and 2. Improve the state of the craft as a whole by showing people what theyre up against and whats possible. Thank you to everyone that has pitched in to make the event happen. From everyone that bought a ticket, vended, got a VIP package, volunteered, or worked. Im especially humbled by the support and hard work of Ernie and the Lax Lounge staff. The Lax lounge supports the community and has created the hub for it in Phoenix. Youre all lucky to have a place like this in your town. Take advantage of it. Cant wait to call the winners up on stage tonight. We have some bad ass prize packages for you all.
