When American soldiers are killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, their counting starts up. But when Iraqi and Afghans are are killed, their importance is reduced by calling it the collateral damage. This is one sided aspect of the history. This aspect is not new in the history of European colonization. For example, in the freedom war of 1857, memorials were built for those British who were killed in this war. Many books were written on them. But there is silence over the killed Indians, like nothing had happened to them. Recently when Indian historian Amreesh Misra collated evidence in forms of books, letters, diaries, newspapers and official documents written by the British, he guesstimated that around 10 million Indians were killed. They were hanged or blown up by tying them on the opening of the bomber gun. Hence, Misra says It was the Indian holocaust.
