When Carol and I were only in our late 20s we were assigned the task of starting a new congregation of the Methodist Church in Deerfield, Illinois, a north suburban community, and to helping to construct the first unit. Members of our congregation were a young teacher, Lee Weir and his wife, Pamela. After four years we left Deerfield and moved in eight years to Glenview were Lee Weir was a local principal of a elementary School and the father of two children. The family was very active in the life of the congregation and Lee and I played racket ball a few times together. Now thirty five years after I left Glenview our paths cross with the Weir family at the New Song Methodist church in Surprise, Arizona and where Pam Weir is one of the Choir Directors. It was great after 35 years to attend a Service with the Weir family.
