When Dhaka Metropolitan Police personnel pulls me over for routine checks, I gladly oblige expecting them to behave and speak to me like proper officers - with the same amount of respect I give them. But when their actions reach a level that is beyond stupidity, I absolutely cannot stand it. If an officer points to a can of recognizable, regular deodorant spray and asks me eta ki? and ato boro keno?, looks at my office ID Card then THROWS it back to me, talks to me like I am his subordinate, and tells me chup thaken when I protest his behavior, I think I have every freaking right to lose it and call him a murkkho and a behaya to his face! Teaching me bullshit laws and trying to force them on me is not the best of ideas. I was indeed quite disappointed because I assumed the Police force was only getting better. Clearly nothing has changed and they dont even know their laws well enough. If his soul purpose in this job was to piss off citizens and get sworn at, he has succeeded. Quite well, I might add. Today I lost all my respect for this force. I still sincerely hope there is a miraculous change coming in, and these idiots will be taught a thing or two.
