When George Washington left camp at Valley Forge in the dead of - TopicsExpress

When George Washington left camp at Valley Forge in the dead of night in the frigid Pennsylvania winter, his troops were malnourished, under clothed and ill-prepared for the march they had in front of them, let alone the battle at the other end. Mostly farmers, many of these average men had worn the souls off their boots and left bloody trails in the white snow. They marched, frostbitten and starving toward what they believed was CERTAIN DEATH against the superior British soldiers, driven ONLY by their devotion to the cause of liberty. Their lives they thought, might mean something if they could free their children and grandchildren of the oppression that they themselves had been enslaved to. Selflessly they fought and died for the freedoms that YOU have TODAY. Less than a century later, the horrors of the American civil war were fought again for the cause of freedom, pinning brother against brother and spilling blood in unimaginable quantities so again, others could breathe the air of freedom as a result of their own dying breath. Their lives were given to a cause far greater than their own desires, greater even than their own will to live. The American story is that of sacrifice, the courage and willingness to serve a calling greater than oneself, even greater than ones family. The willingness to give up everything held dear, to walk away from the comforts that they had spent their entire lives building. It is the tale of men and women who through their own resolve would defeat the mightiest army the world had ever seen, against impossible odds and build a new nation, a free nation, for, of and BY THE PEOPLE. The first FREE society the world had ever known. This experiment...the American experiment, was purchased with the blood of our forefathers, and now it is YOURS to protect and defend. Today we still have heroes, fighting in uniform to protect not just our own people, but those of less powerful nations, freeing them from genocide and evil terrorists. History is being written TODAY, and this chapter....will it mention YOU? If so, what will be written? If our forefathers were so bold, so courageous, so determined...wont you find it in YOURself to give up a few hours of your life that they died to provide you? Not to charge the enemy with bayonets, but to stand with a clipboard and talk to your neighbors? My friends - If you have not yet volunteered to collect signatures for Dr. Ben Carson at the polls on November 4th, please consider signing up to do so. Remember, this is OUR republic and we have the OBLIGATION to be active and involved in the selection process of our representatives. The American experiment can only succeed if the populace is educated and willing to serve the cause of freedom. Today more than ever, we need COMMON SENSE. We need OPTIONS on election day! Those options do not materialize in the weeks before elections, they start many months in advance by grassroots efforts, of which each of us SHOULD be a part! You have a chance right NOW to encourage options for president in 2016. Be a part of the American system, it is your DUTY! The Draft Ben Carson Committee needs more volunteers for November 4th! Would you consider collecting signatures at YOUR polling place? 10 minutes, 10 hours, 10 signatures....anything helps. I am not asking you to cast a vote for Dr. Carson, only to help send the message that we want him as an OPTION in 2016. He will still have to win us over in the debates and on the campaign trail, but lets listen to his message of COMMON SENSE. Be a PART of America, not just a citizen. Who is willing to stand with me? Anyone? Start with the petition if you havent yet: t.co/XFkV0guQWc
