When He Sent “When Pharaoh Let Go, Israel Grew Up” Torah Portion: Exodus 13:17 – 17:16, Haf Tarah: Judges 5:1-31 Brit Chadashah: Acts 19 – 23 The Portion of “Beshalach / When He Sent” begins with Pharaoh finally relenting to let the Children of Israel go and worship God. However, Pharaoh quickly changes his mind and his army pursues the Children of Israel to bring them back to Egypt. Pharaoh represents a government system and a person, both of which will oppose God’s plan for the Children of Israel in the last days. Beshalach continues with Amalek (Esau’s grandson) challenging Israel’s chosen position. Amalek was the firstborn of Esau, born to a Canaanite concubine. Amalek vies with Israel to be called the firstborn among the nations and God declares war against Amalek forever from that point on. The spirit of Amalek is characterized by strife and contention. The spirit of Amalek is assigned by God to be destroyed and the LORD swore that He would war with Amalek from generation to generation (Exodus 17). Where is the spirit of Amalek present today? How does it raise its head and why is it always prevalent? Consider one of the most evil plots designed by the spirit of Amalek that is currently at work in the earth today. It can be found in distinguishing between the Jesus of Islam and the Jesus of Christianity. In the Book of Revelation you find two Beasts: the first rising from the Sea and a second arising from the Earth. You also find the dragon – the ancient serpent from the Garden (HaSatan). The dragon gives his power to the first “Beast”, who is the Anti-Christ, or the Mahdi (Guided One) of Islam. Prophecy tells us that the Anti-Christ will receive a fatal head wound, an attack by the sword that causes his right eye and right arm to wither. “Woe to the worthless shepherd, who leaves the flock! A sword shall be against his arm and against his right eye; his arm shall completely wither, and his right eye shall be totally blinded.”(Zechariah 11:17 NKJV) The second “Beast” is the False Prophet who will endorse the Anti-Christ. The False Prophet will perform signs and wonders and convince the world to set up an image of the first Beast. The Anti-Christ dies and lives again, which causes the world to worship him as god (Revelation 13). Many will believe that the Anti-Christ is the long-awaited Christ (Messiah). The spiritual blindness that is upon religious leaders and prophets of this age is due to the spirit of Amalek. Islam is waiting for Jesus to return, just as Christianity is. Islam expects that when Jesus appears, He will confirm that His followers misunderstood His message, deliberately changed His teachings, and that only Mohammed transferred the uncorrupted revelation of God, as recorded in the Koran. The deception will be based on the One-ness of God and the Deity of Yeshua. Those who have not studied the Torah will walk right into the deception that Islam is setting up. The Scriptures teach that God is One (Deuteronomy 6:4). The Bible confirms that Yeshua (Jesus) is not only the Son of God, but He is God – YHWH Incarnate (Isaiah 12:2). He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”(Colossians 1:15) Islam also teaches that there is one god, whom they call, “Allah”, but that he has no need of a “son”. Christianity, however, teaches the Trinity, three separate and distinct persons – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. With Islam’s recognition of Jesus as a prophet and Christianity’s recognition of Jesus as the “Son” of God, the stage is set for the lie that Allah and YHWH are one and the same, and that Jesus and Mohammed are his prophets. Islam believes that the Mahdi will discover ancient scrolls from Antioch and bring back the Ark of the Covenant from the region of Lake Tiberius. This Anti-Christ will say that the Torah was corrupted by the Jews and the New Testament was corrupted by the Christians. This deception will grow due to the lack of understanding that Jesus is not only the Messiah, but literally YHWH in the flesh. Islam will then declare that the Mahdi (Anti-Christ), endorsed by the False Prophet (Muslim Jesus) is the true Messiah. What was thought to be impossible in Judaism, Christianity and most religions of the world, has now become possible…the great deception of the Dragon’s Beasts. “And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.”(Revelation 13:3 NKJV) You are the Children of Israel and God has given you His Torah – His Teaching and Instruction. God has given you His Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh in Hebrew), to keep you from the end-time deception. As you walk in the principles of the Torah, God’s Covenant will keep you
