When Heather and Rebecca (Becky) were children they were never far out of our sight. We, like our parents before us, made a point of telling them / warning them about the dangers of putting your trust in people; of how others judge you by those with which you associate. They were told to respect authority; to be responsible; to understand their civic duty to their country and the overriding principle above all to serve the Lord and care for their fellow man. You ask why we have meltdowns in our society like the ones in Ferguson MO. the breakdown of the family is the reason. For generations no one is or has been passing on the wisdom and warnings and instructions as I have laid out above. No! What has happened is our government has rewarded illicit, immoral and unwise lifestyles in effect creating the dissolution of the family unit. Men and women have no responsibility or encouragement either morally or monetarily any longer to be a family. The government, by virtue of their so-called benevolence, has made it profitable to have as many fatherless children on the public dole as you want and they/we will pick up the tab. Only in America, the land or opportunity, is getting pregnant seen as a cost of living increase. Parents bare no responsibility in the rearing and teaching of children simply because, in a lot of cases, those children are viewed simply as a pay raise. Does it really surprise anyone that those kids who grow up constantly staying in trouble do so and end up in prison? I know this post will in all likelihood irritate and enrage some but we cant keep thinking that more money given to irresponsible immature people is the answer. Our encouragement as a nation to rebuild the family must be a priority not phony benevolence.
