When I accept friend requests from people I dont know, I go on the basis that weve a minimum of 10 friends in common - friends whom I respect and trust. Unfortunately, some of these friends themselves accept every single friend request they receive - which rather limits the usefulness of my criterion. I think its irresponsible not to be selective - this grants access to trolls and spies of all kinds.
