When I am at a restaurant with servers, I am acutely aware of my privilege. Its not a normal thing in human history - save for the highest nobility - to employ cooks and servers for your own benefit. And yet, thats exactly what were doing when someone is serving us. So yes, I tip. I over-tip. (But what if the service wasnt good! And...) I dont care. I was the Worlds Worst Waiter. I know its hard. I also know that I will never, ever simply take having servants for granted. Im no king, after all. And the real King says my server... is my superior.
