When I am planning a class, I like to choose a pose or theme and then take a look at it from all different angles. What would this pose look like turned upside-down? on its side or lying down? Since every body is different, I like to incorporate at least two of these variations into a class so that students may experience and access them in various ways. Think about it: bridge, ustrasana (camel), and dhanurasana (bow) are all essentially the same pose, but they demand different muscle groups to engage or release depending on how youre resisting gravity! ~ Carly Zampariello, O2 Teacher If you missed Carlys 9am Basics in Somerville, join her for 11am Intermediate in Cambridge :)
