When I broke my finger in 2003 helping my husband build a deck, it - TopicsExpress

When I broke my finger in 2003 helping my husband build a deck, it was a huge inconvenience. I had my whole dominant hand not useable for weeks and had to endure weeks of pain to get movement back in the broken finger. Little did I know, that years down the track, this old injury would give me a special superpower! Whenever a significant cool change comes through, altering the weather quite dramatically, my finger will ache. It’s like I have my own barometer in my hand that I always carry with me! It may not give me the exact forecast but it’s pretty accurate in predicting changing weather lol! Our bodies are amazing instruments. They have been created in such a way that they give us signs and indications. Sure, you may not have a special weather forecaster in your hand, but I can assure you that your body gives you different signs. Not being able to sleep could mean that you’re stressed or nervous about something and itchy eyes or sneezing indicate there’s pollen in the air and aching joints can mean a change In the weather! It is clear that God created our bodies in an incredible way. That’s why I love that in Psalm 16 it speaks of our bodies resting securely in God. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure. (Psalm 16:9) There are times when I am stressed, worried and anxious and I don’t feel like I’m resting securely. But once I realise these feelings and hand them over to God, the bodily change in me is quite significant. While our bodies tell us how we are feeling, they can also tell us where we’re at with God. If we place ourselves firmly in His arms then, no matter what we’re going through, we will feel hope and peace. Lord God, I have to admit that there are times when I lack faith and troubles swarm over my whole life. Thank You for reminding me that the best place for me to be is close to You.
