When I came home, I was greeted as never before. Not just by my loving dog Clara. I had done such a good job of finding her a place to be loved and safe while I was gone, she seemed to be a bit cold upon my return. Shell warm up again. I was embraced by the ones who missed me, and love me. Traveling, is something I have had tough luck with, mostly due to my inability to pick compatible companions. When I went to Hawaii, I was with my mother-in-law, her brother, and his wife, all pushing 90. When I went to Vegas, I went with my best friends, and all went well. I went to New York City, with my son and his first wife, and, well....., so this trip, I was very tense. I knew only one person, somewhat, and had been introduced to my roomie, who turned out be be a wonderful gal. I had a great time, other than some old age pangs, from which we all suffered. I do not like the words, however, but, alas. However, while on this trip, I was reminded of the old notion, Neither a lender, nor, a borrower be. It brings out ugliness in the the nicest of people. It does not matter on which side you are, it will come back to haunt, often seething and boiling in silence, until a blast occurs. Rarely, can we borrow, without being examined for every purchase until the money is returned, or, if we are the lender, we end up being a hound to get it back. Ones perception, quickly, becomes anothers reality. This is where we need to turn to our Lord to help us reach the hearts of each, and to remind us that we are much more valueable to each other, than petty cash. We need to be reminded, we do not change who we are when we loan, or borrow. True giving carries a gift, seen in the face of the receiver. Once that gift is given, and received, we must continue to love each other, without suspicion. Sure, we can be wrong, but God has even instructed us on what to do in cases such as that, to let it go. Integrity is am important quality, and it is what keep a relationship respectful. If we destroy the integrity of another, with no thought to the relationship, it was not meant to last, and a lesson will be found.
