When I decided to buy my farm in Brazil everyone I knew - TopicsExpress

When I decided to buy my farm in Brazil everyone I knew (virtually) gave me a good reason why not to do it. There were many reasons and most of them were very rational and I am sure all were well intended. Sometimes however you just need to put a dream first and MAKE IT work. Buying the farm has had its challenges thats for sure, but thanks to the kindness of so many local people it has worked. Not for a second since the day I bought it have I given a second s serious consideration to selling it or ever doubted my decision to buy it. On the contrary buying the farm was stage 1 and adding the guest cottage (Gracie Cottage) was stage 2. I have three more stages planned ( infrastructural off the grid stuff) but one very exciting one is a tree house which will be our new home. But the ultimate goal with the farm is to create a wild animal sanctuary combined with an animal and environmental educational centre. I am sharing this because we all have dreams and desires and life has a knack of knocking them out of us by something called being realistic. Oh I do hate that term. Most people mean well when they caution you but you also need to say to yourself I have the right to dream and to pursue that dream. We get older so quickly! Time really does fly and everyone wants their pound of flesh along the way. Whatever your goals are, move decisively forward with them and dont over think the what ifs or you will be paralysed and do nothing. There will always be many well meaning Doubting Thomases along your journey. They are not the enemy just dont bring them with you. In the final analyses your passion will make it happen if its what you really want. So what is your dream? What fans the flames of passion? I think it is a very good thing to share it. It helps you to achieve the next step and it helps encourage others to take the next step in achieving their dreams. I am sure some may read this as arrogant but thats ok... I just think time is too precious to not keep some of it for your own passions. A real estate trainer once finished a course I did with these simple words; live life like you mean it!. Sound advice!
