When I decided to share my archives with the improv community, it was Sheldon Patinkin who helped me identify and fill in the blanks with material that lacked information. His memory and attention to detail was extraordinary, and often items he responded to came with a personal story. He was generous with his time and surprisingly interested in my work. It was a pleasure to lavish him with memorabilia from the Playwrights Theatre Club & Compass that he didnt have. The most astute observation I ever heard about David Shepherd, came from Sheldon; You know, Michael - David is a socialist. Whats yours is mine, and whats mine is mine. I never had the honor of studying or working with Sheldon. For my friends who did, I envy the extraordinary experience you all had with him - and Im deeply sorry for your loss. It was a privilege to know him.
