When I first arrived in Mexico I was amazed by this romantic and calm corner of the Caribbean, I was fascinated by the unique beauty of the scenery and pampered by nature. I saw fine white coral sand and an amazing array of blues in the sea ranging from azure and turquoise to deep blue, they blended on the horizon with the sky and the dreamy cloud formations. The lush jungle where flora and fauna revel in their colors seemed to me almost unreal. What more does a photographer desire? For 3 years now, I have tried to capture with my camera all of these impressions and unique moments. I am still surprised by the infinite biological diversity of both the vegetable and animal worlds. I enjoy the calm of an early-morning walk on the beach, or a dip into the fantastic world of ‘cenotes’ with fresh and crystalline waters. I admire the Mayan ceremonial cities of Tulum and Coba and appreciate the natural reserves. In this book I want to highlight the beauty of the Riviera Maya, which captivates visitors and locals alike. This is a collection of photographs I have taken in natural light. Come with me on a wonderful journey of approximately 75 miles; from the break of dawn in Puerto Morelos to the setting sun in Punta Allen, to the Biosphere of Sian Ka’an. Cuando llegué en mi primer viaje a México, a este rincón romántico del Caribe, me fascinó la belleza única del paisaje consentido por la naturaleza. Vi playas de finas arenas blancas de coral y una gama impresionante de tonalidades azules del mar, desde el celeste y turquesa hasta el ultramarino, que se funden en el horizonte con el cielo y sus formaciones de nubes de ensueño. Casi irreal pareció el paisaje de la jungla abundante en la cual flora y fauna lucieron en todos sus colores. ¿Qué más puede anhelar un fotógrafo? Desde hace tres años, intento captar con mi cámara estas impresiones y momento únicos. Me sigo sorprendiendo aún de la infinita diversidad biológica del mundo vegetal y animal. Disfruto la sensación de tranquilidad cuando camino temprano en la playa o cuando me sumerjo en el mundo fantástico de los cenotes en su agua fresca y cristalina. Admiro las ciudades ceremoniales mayas de Tulúm y Cobá y aprecio las reservas naturales. En este libro quiero resaltar la belleza de la Riviera Maya que cautiva al mismo tiempo visitantes y habitantes. Es una colección de fotografías que capturé con luz natural. Acompáñeme a través de un viaje maravilloso de aproximadamente 120 kilómetros; desde un amanecer en Puerto Morelos hasta un atardecer en la biosfera de Sian Ka’an, en Punta Allen. Als ich auf meiner ersten Reise nach Mexiko in diese romantische Gegend der Karibik kam, faszinierte mich die einzigartige Schönheit der von der Natur verwöhnten Landschaft. Ich sah Korallenstrände aus pulverfeinem Sand und eine Vielfalt von Blautönen des Meeres, welche von azur über türkis bis ultramarin reichten und sich am Horizont mit dem Himmel und seinen traumhaften Wolkenformationen vereinigten. Fast unwirklich erschien die Landschaft des üppig bewachsenen Dschungels, in dem Flora und Fauna in allen Farben leuchteten. Was kann sich ein Fotograf mehr wünschen? Seit drei Jahren versuche ich all diese Eindrücke und einzigartigen Momente mit meiner Kamera festzuhalten. Immer wieder überrascht mich die unendliche Vielfalt der Tier- und Pflanzenwelt aufs Neue. Ich genieße die Ruhe, wenn ich früh am Morgen am Strand entlang gehe, oder wenn ich in die fantastische Welt der ‘Cenoten’ eintauche. Ich bewundere die alten Maya-Tempelstätten von Tulum und Coba und schätze die Naturreservate. In diesem Buch möchte ich die Schönheit der Riviera Maya verdeutlichen, die Einheimische und Reisende gleichzeitig fasziniert. Es ist eine Kollektion von Fotografien, die ich ausschließlich mit natürlichem Licht aufgenommen habe. Lors de mon premier voyage au Mexique, dans ce coin romantique des Caraïbes, j’ai été fasciné par la beauté unique des paysages gâtés par la nature. J’y ai vu des plages de corail et de fin sable blanc, une mer d’huile, et une gamme impressionnante de tons de bleu dans la mer, depuis le bleu azur jusqu’au turquoise et en passant par le marine obscur, qui se fondent dans l’horizon avec le ciel, et ses subjugantes formations nuageuses dans le ciel.Ces paysages de jungle abondante, dans lesquels faune et flore brillent de tous leurs éclats, m’ont paru presque irréels. A quoi d’autre pourrait aspirer un photographe? Depuis trois ans, j’essaye d’immobiliser toutes les impressions et les moments uniques. Je continue a me surprendre lorsque je trouve cette infinie diversité biologique du monde végétal et animal. J’aime profiter de la sensation de tranquilité qu’offre une promenade sur la plage, de l’expérience de connaître le monde fantastique des cenotes et me submerger dans ses eaux fraîches et cristalines. J’admire les vestiges millénaires de Tulum et Coba. J’ai conscience de la valeur des réserves naturelles. À travers ce livre, mon intention est de partager la beauté de la Riviera Maya, qui captive ses visiteurs autant que ses habitants. Je transmet cette collection de photographies prises en lumière naturelle. J’invite le lecteur dans ce merveilleux voyage d’environ 120 kilomètres, depuis un lever du jour a Puerto Morelos, et jusqu’à un coucher de soleil sur la biosphère de Sian Ka’an, à Punta Allen.
