When I first moved to Nashville, I used to hear Tony Lane do this - TopicsExpress

When I first moved to Nashville, I used to hear Tony Lane do this song a couple of times a month at writers nights. Folks like him, Chris Wallin, Craig J Martin, and David Lee, who all had current hits out on the radio, were out there regularly playing The Commodore Grille Nashville, The Broken Spoke, The Hall Of Fame Lounge and other places like that with all of us newbies and wannabes who looked up to them like crazy. I understand why they arent still doing that, but where are the new hit writers? I dont remember the last time I was at a writers night where someone who had a current hit out was playing. Im guessing that a lot of the new hits are not songs that can be pulled off by one person with a guitar. Its sad. I used to hear some of the greatest songs in their purest form. I miss that.
