When I first moved to San Jose (now about 17 years ago) and found myself an apartment in Campbell, one of the restaurants that I fell in love with was El Burro in the Campbell Prune Yard. However, over the last 5 or 6 years Katherine and I have gone there less and less as things were growing increasingly disappointing. Well today marks the last time. Saturday was lovely and we thought let’s go have a late lunch at El Burro and dine outside. Big mistake. Todays visit was dismal with the service being deplorable and the food being even worse. Even when we brought things to service people’s attention they just didnt care. So very sad. El Burro was a nice restaurant in a good location with a very nice atmosphere and a great outside dining area. But I can no longer remotely endorse it. Do you have a local Mexican restaurant, preferable something a bit more substantial than just a whole in the wall spot, that you particularly like in the South Bay. I’m looking for a new one.
