When I first saw you with your smile so tender, my heart was captured, my soul surrendered. - Elvis Presley I love sayings and songs that I can relate to. I can place myself in this position and that makes such words amazing to ones spirit. It is amusing as to how many ignore words and their intense hidden or expressed meanings. We often waste words by misuse or abuse of them. The word love often used just to get something we desire, we often use phrases and such for selfish reasons, self gain or self recognition. This causes people to overlook the truth when someone is being honest and speaking from their soul. Of course on another side of the coin... sometimes we avoid the intense truths. We are afraid of that which might be totally truth, for it could include the surrender of our own hearts and souls, chancing the possibilities of one day being hurt. Intense emotion can be scary, as it often lifts our spirits into a realm of the unknown and never before experienced. As a young man I lacked the ability to feel emotions on an intense level. Often hiding in the emotions of anger. Not taking a chance to love due to its intense levels, but as a writer I learned to experience feelings and emotions on levels never before believed. One poem taking me to the top of the world as another lowered me into the darkness. I learned to enjoy the rollercoaster of words, in return learning to enjoy what emotions can bring into ones life. Though often I still hide such things from others, not sharing the feelings that can flow. Yet I am more open than ever before, having learned that emotions and feelings are great to experience.... and also that letting myself flow into words and things said can also allow me to feel or sense the intense moments that could be. Much like a dream where we wish to one day experience something grand, but all we have is the idea of what could be. I guess this is why I enjoy writing and enjoy music and words said by others.
