When I first started my Coaching practice I interviews some 20+ - TopicsExpress

When I first started my Coaching practice I interviews some 20+ Solopreneaurial decorators and designers (mostly female) to see what they most needed in their businesses. In all but 2 cases the same 2 topics came up each time - social media marketing and financial planning management. In watching this Ted Talk (posted below) which explains why there are 50% of women in middle management but less than 33% of that number in top management, I started to see a parallel with the Solopreneurs I had interviewed. The 2 Solopreneurs interviewed that were exceptions to the rule (1 male owned and 1 female owned) had both seen the need for financial management and future financial planning that would help take their businesses to the next level and had employed financial managers. Both had dealt with their fears around finances and embraced the learning needed in financial management. Whilst many similar businesses were (are) floundering in the present economy, these 2 were (and still are) growing from strength to strength. As a Life Coach I am curious as to what beliefs (fears?) women have around the financial management aspects of their businesses that holds them back from developing the skills or seeking / employing the assistance they need to grow their businesses. ted/talks/susan_colantuono_the_career_advice_you_probably_didn_t_get#t-726118 If you are a Solopreneur struggling with this, please comment below so as to assist me to understand what is holding you back so that I may best assist you move forward in growing your business. Please share this post with friends or colleagues you know to be struggling with this aspect of their business. Thank you, and remember Energy flows where thought goes. James
