When I first went to see my boy I turned up with my husband and looked around. Lia didnt show up as she had hurt her back and so we came back a second time and I rode through the woods and on the road. I asked if he jumped as there were jumps in the woods and rather than giving me a yes or no I got a lets see and off in canter and over we popped. Incredibly nervous to the point of feeling that sicky feeling but fine. Hadnt jumped for years and wanted a bombproof boy to restore my confidence and this seemed like it. A bit of a lumpy canter but then found after that he had lost a shoe which was known when we went out but not by me or I wouldnt have ridden him. I bought him after a vetting which he passed. Nearly 6k. My friend turned up at the agreed time to collect him and had to wait 30 min until she turned up took him from the field filthy and my friend just wanted to get him out of there. Back at the yard he was terrified. Circling in box nervous poo everywhere and then when walked wouldnt go back in box. Became bolshy bargy strong and stroppy and was too big to be like this. I mentioned this on the page as was concerned I was doing something wrong as he was no longer the calm quiet plod I was expecting only to be told I was being unfair to him and to bloody well get on and ride him. Terrified I did making me more nervous. He hadnt a clue in the school because he was so anxious which was making me the same. I was just made to feel I was wasting her time and useless. I had further lessons and persevered until it got yo the point last year that I couldnt continue and seriously thought about selling him. I spoke to her and advised that he was fitter and no longer as she described. She laughed didnt want him back or to swap him. I was told to get on with it. I did. I found a calm and patient rider who was more experienced than me who did wonders. I am glad I stuck with him. But it has cost me in confidence and financially. Wouldnt part with him for the world. He has his own ways and I can read him like a book always going back to groundwork to reassure him. The copious water drinking physcogenic polydipsia has stopped and his feet that were shocking as the feet were made to fit the shoes. Taken hard work blood sweat and tears but they are now fine too. Cherish my boy but wouldnt recommend her if my life depended on it. Way overpriced. I remember someone else who bought a horse Blue at the same time and had problems with sarcoids. Is she here as I believe was also not treated fairly.
