When I got admitted to FPI, my father called me and said zizaboni omo mi which means azeez my child. Please when you get to school, dont be a cult member and stay out of trouble. Those words, I obliged with. . But just last month, my father called and told me he was watching our school protest on AIT. He asked where I was, and I said I was busy reading in my room that he had warned me never to participate in any demonstration. I called my Dad this morning to inform him that I am so broke that I am willing to come home, he then asked why our school is on strike. I told him the FG have not increase Lecturers allowance has promised, that FG havent stop the dichotomy between Polytechnic and University. And lastly, I said we students are also angry about our school fees increment every time and a protest is about to happen on monday, so I dont want to get involved. But alas! My father respond was so shocking. He said if the riot is about School fees increment, please my child dont come home! Get involved, fight for your right, break bottle, break head, spoil something, infact die there.
