When I got into aviation I thought I would be tweaking on nuts and bolts, and getting covered in grease. On these Embraer 170s it seems all I do is electrical resets from the cockpit, and occasionally change one of these circuit board modules. On the one hand, its nice that the new generation of airplanes is easy to work on, but on the other hand it makes me sad that my generation of mechanics will only have 1/5 the skill set that an old school DC-8 or L-1011 mechanic had.
