When I got involved with the Miss South Carolina Pageant some 20 years ago there were several people who were always encouaging, two of those being Frances Kendall and Gail Sanders! I will always cherish both of them! Today I learned Mrs. Gail has been diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer and wont undergo treatements. Im very saddned to hear this! Even though Ive lost touch over the last four years, I still think of her and her husband and former President of the Miss S.C. pageant Joe Sanders often. The 2010 Miss South Carolina Pageant Local Executive Director of the Year plaque that sits on my mantle will always remind me of her everytime I look at it now! She is one of the many reasons why I earned this honor and I want her to know that she will be a special person to me always!
