When I got married, I learned that I was disposable. That I deserved to be lied to, that a man can treat his woman the way he likes as long as he make a decent wage. That my opinions and feelings didnt matter. That I was a second class citizen, and that my liberal upbringing was bad. That my goals and dreams were not as important as my husbands. Part of me died in that marriage.... This is the part that is now coming alive. Thankful for today and for new beginnings, and that I believed that there was something better on the other side. Independence Day. Im gonna celebrate it with people who respect me and love me and believe in me... I hope you do to. Be safe, everyone.
