When I got the call on the Hope For Paws line about Layla, I asked Annie of Rescue From The Hart if she had a foster home available for a dog that was hit by a car and would need extra care. She said yes, so we headed out right away. I took the backseat on this rescue... I drove, and I filmed (the rescue, and hospital part of it), but I had Annie do all the rest. It turned that Layla wasnt hit by a car, but she was really sick. She was so lucky that a Good Samaritan texted me a picture because without the specialty medical care Layla needed, she probably wouldnt have lived for more than a week. As you will see in this video, the foster parents played a key role in Laylas recovery process and this brings me to a special request: if you havent tried fostering yet, please visit a local rescue near you this weekend (maybe at one of the adoption events), and offer to become a foster parent. The joy of seeing these dogs and cats coming out of their shells, recovering from sickness, and becoming happy pets is priceless!
