When I heard about health care reform the first thought that came - TopicsExpress

When I heard about health care reform the first thought that came to mind is Universal health care for all. I positively sure that we know someone who doesn’t have health insurance and relies on emergency room visits to stay healthy. Emergency rooms are bombarded with uninsured people every day and Congress fails to realize those who can’t afford to pay their medical bills causes inflation to rise thus those who do have health insurance will see an increase in premiums and that usually forces people to do the unthinkable just to stay afloat. A majority of politicians claim they grew up poor but as soon as they get a taste of money lose touch with reality and could care less about those of us still struggling to make ends meet or put food on the table. I was under the false impression that gov’t works for the people but now I see we work for them and they’re calling all the shots and opinions mean nothing. As for Social Security Americans worked hard and some were forced to hold down three or more jobs to pay into a program which Congress feels the need to dangle around every time they fail to get their way. What we really need know is welfare reform because they are so many who are taking advantage of the system and the ones who really need it are getting turned down and that’s not fare. If I was a politician I would fight for the people and I would take everyone opinions into account before rendering a verdict. It’s my personal belief that lifetime benefits for politicians need to be repealed once you leave office you’re responsible for your own medical bills and salaries should be hourly based so they could see what the average worker goes through on a daily basis and unless we stand together an demand these changes then Congress will continue to give themselves raises thus laughing all the way to the bank while the rest of us continue to suffer.
