When I left Texas over six years ago I was sure I was going back. - TopicsExpress

When I left Texas over six years ago I was sure I was going back. I had a short term consulting job in the Bay which was only supposed to last year. But then I fell in love with the Bay, my friends, the weather, the community and I decided to stay. I have experienced such amazing success here and my life has just exploded in technicolor since I have been here. I would never have had this life if I had stayed in Texas. I am sure it would have still been a good life but not an amazing life. When I first got here I was particularly homesick. There was a place in Dallas called Mimis, it is a chain restaurant that makes faux French food. It was cheesy but they made a badass spice muffin. I remember when I found one in Union City I was so happy. It felt a little bit of home in biggo California. For the last six years I have gone to Mimis once every couple months, its tradition. Today I went there to have breakfast and it is closed for business. Maybe because it is 9/11 and I am feeling sentimental but it feels like the the final period of the final sentence on the last page of a book. I am ready to take a new book off the shelf.
