When I listen to Bobby Womack I hear every soul group, singer and song Ive ever heard in my life. Today, we say good-bye to that gruff, gravelly and beautiful baritone voiced man who lived a thousand lives in his 70 years on this earth. His was a voice that had few equals in the business but his talents went far beyond vocals. He was a prolific and solid composer and writer of ballads that are timeless and a guitar master backing the great Sam Cooke until his death. He touched the lives of many artists including Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Wilson Pickett, the Rolling Stones and onward and upward through the years to Mary J.
