When I met Scott 7 years ago this November he wasnt able to hold a guitar long enough to play. He would have spasms and it would hurt him to stand up to too long. We dated and we prayed. Some of our dates would include visits to Johns Hopkins, NIH or just hanging around the house because he was having an off day. We always carried a pair of crutches in the car wherever we went and the EMTs were called to our home several times because the spasms would make his blood sugars plummet. It was a scary time for us both because we didnt know what was going on. When we got married his biggest dream was to sing to his wife. I never heard him sing, only on his CD. We were scared Scott might not be able to fully walk down the aisle so we skipped the singing and made sure a friend had crutches in case his legs would give out. It broke both of our hearts and because we knew how important music is in his life. For some reason the Lord took away his ability to sing or play guitar for a season. It was a very painful season for him and it pained me to see his heart break. Scott was having these spasms up until Judah was 4 months. He even had one in the room right after Judah was born, thankfully he wasnt holding him at the time. When Judah was 4 months we found an amazing Doctor that was able to fix Scotts spasms. I cant even explain how grateful I am that The Lord connected us to this Doctor. Even though the spasms were gone Scott still wasnt feeling well for many years. Finally last November he tested positive for this blood parasite that the Doctors believe he has had for the past 10 years. After 8-9 rounds of parasitic medication Scott is finally not only gaining some weight but also his energy. Tonight I tried not to cry as I saw part of my husband come alive as he was able to do what he was meant to do. Play music. I am grateful for the unknown season in the valley that The Lord walked with us in. It has taught us both so much and it has drawn us closer. I am also grateful for this season we are entering. I have seen the great redeemer redeem my husbands gift and encourage his heart. I have seen the great comforter comfort my husband when the days looked scary and unknown. I thank The Lord for today and for giving me such an incredibly faithful husband. Here is a video of one of his spasms. His Doctors at NIH and Johns Hopkins didnt believe him so I started recording his spasms. This is how we found the Doctor that finally fixed him. youtube/watch?v=dD2Mp9v1ORg
