When I moved out of California, the DMV continued to hit me up for - TopicsExpress

When I moved out of California, the DMV continued to hit me up for fees incurred after I cancelled my license and registration. Several calls and letters later, I contacted the CA Attorney General to apply pressure. I got a letter back saying that although they often represent DMV, they arent in my case. Im wondering if this might happen with government taking over private sector things such as, oh, healthcare. The first order of business on any law is for the government to protect itself. With a national healthcare system, will the defenses that individuals have from over-reaching corporations greatly diminish?
