When I posted the last sentence (one of the best sentences ever) of this the other day it was mainly ignored. Now I have time to type up a little more: At that point, he spread his dorsal wing out and floated sideways into the funnel, gliding slowly in circles and looking all around himself at the countless electrical lights inside the funnel. Nuses lighthouses werent the only objects that were illuminated and glowing with light. All trees inside the funnel grew differently sized balloons on their branches instead of fruit or blossoms. These balloons hung limply during the day, but at night they swelled up wide and shone phosphorescent colours into the darkness. There were also fireflies - many of them. Lesabéndio was glowing at various points on his body, as all Pallasians can - when they want to. Slowly, he stretched his long snake-like body upside-down and bent himself into a circle, grasping the back of his head with his suction-foot. He then floated gently down while rotating, thanks to his outspread dorsal wings, and sank gradually and comfortably into the depths of the funnel. The night was delicious. -- PS
