When I read James Baldwin’s words, I intuitively sense a deep truth. It is nearly impossible to live in the world today without feeling at some point in our lives a feeling of not being good enough, ostracized, or excluded. This is a painful feeling not in a physical sense but rather internally, a result of a deep subconscious feeling of separation or disconnection from the whole causing an interior wound of separation in all of us. When the pain remains unrealized, it results in deep suffering, which may manifest feelings of frustration, anxiety, loneliness, anger and, eventually, hate. Of what we aren’t exactly sure. But it is manifested in many ways.
