When I received this tag my first reaction was to be pessimistic... I own a black business, Ive been a black businesses owner and entrepreneur for as long as I can remember..I see how we as black operate with each other. Its gotten so comical that our behavior is the joke of many other cultures...Fact: We as black consumers seek out black businesses in many cases to get a hookup, use the product or services then complain, and without skipping a beat, walk down the street to the non black business get comparable product or service, no discounts pay full price with no complaints... We have big ideas on how to help our culture but short attention span and memories... again, I own a black business Im proud of being black owned, but its seems impossible to get our people on board on how to construct a strong foundation and build on that to create a unstoppable business force...what our people need to have pride in themselves and stop searching for others approval, thats the main reasons many black businesses dont succeed. We are a reactionary bunch, most times prisoners of the moment... Our movements are usually for a cause and not the cause for a movement.. In no way am i trying to tear down this idea, in fact, I believe in it, but in order to affect change,Many of us MUST BE WILLING TO GIVE UP THE LIFE WE PLANNED TO MAKE WAY TO THE LIFE THAT IS WAITING FOR US. My optimism comes with every breath that speaks change Im hoping this time will be different..I could care less about black friday...what about black legacy?..meaning supporting each other 365 days a year, every year..Then the voice of an unstoppable force is much louder than a faint sound in the darkness every once in a while...
