When I shared my cousins post this morning, I just started thinking about all of the missed opportunities in our lives to do good because of losing sight of that one word...PURPOSE...the reason why something exists or is done; the feeling of being determined to do...There is a reason why I exist, a reason why I breathe and take up space. Jesus said in Mark 12:30-31, that I should love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength...this is the first commandment. And the second is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said there were NO greater commands than these. Tikkun olam is a Hebrew phrase that means repairing the world ...our responsibility in helping to heal, repair and transform the world. I believe our purpose for being here is to love God with everything in us and by doing that we will be good to people, (and not just those that are good to us) fulfilling the second command...I for one, am so tired of seeing people hurting people, wounding each others spirits, tearing down instead of building up. Our PURPOSE is to show the love of God in everthing that we do, so that we can help repair broken lives ...thats what Jesus did...he went around, doing good, healing all who were oppressed (harrassed) of the devil! So lets ask ourselves this question today...how can I (Sheila) Tikkun olam, make a difference, make somebodys life better today? I refuse to be a part of the problem...I, ON PURPOSE choose to be a blessing to people that God puts in my path...just imagine how awesome this world would be if we did, as HE commanded everyday!!! By the way, Jesus didnt say this was just a suggestion....He called it a commandment!!! Love you all!!!
