When I sold off my belongings and gave up my beautiful home, I knew I was searching for something deeper than the typical comforts of modern life. Although Ive for many years dedicated a lot of my time to causes I care about- from protecting Kaimi coast and Kaimana beach from development back in the early 90s, to bringing culture and music back into schools, to raising awareness about toxic chemical pollution in Hawaii, to serving as spokesperson for Hawaiian reefs and monk seals, and presently inspiring higher voter turnouts, I can honestly say I never expected to meet Sean Willmore, a man whom I consider a true game changer on planet Earth. Sean is the founder of The Thin Green Line Foundation, and if youve never heard of it, trust me: after watching this piece (featuring legendary primatologist Jane Goodall) that just recently aired on national Aussie TV, you will never forget it. You may even be, as I am- sitting here typing this to you with tears in my eyes- so moved to participate in this incredibly important cause; one that, in all honesty, until I met Sean, I was nearly completely ignorant to. Im here with Sean in Melbourne putting on a concert this Friday with one of my favorite contemp musos GOTYE, raising money for The Thin Green Line Foundation. Come be a part of my journey into the incredibly important yet unbelievably dangerous world of park rangers. Makana
