When I started Gospel music Dee-Jaying in the 90s, I visited my favourite record shop on Peckham Rye London sometime in 1997 to purchase the latest stuff. The shop owner recommended I pick up a copy of Virtues debut CD. I was reluctant. When it comes to Gospel music, tastes differ and I wasnt prepared to waste £14 (yes! Gospel CDs were expensive back in the day) and not be able to play at least 3 tracks off it during my Praise parties. See, there was no internet to pre-listen while the shop owner hadnt invested into those fanciful CD players with headphones for listening...So, I took a chance, bought it, knowing fully well getting a refund was out of the question (Its Peckham folks not HMV or Virgin Oxford Circus!) The minute I got home and track one- Let the Redeemed belted through my speakers, it would take a Noise Contravention Notice from the Environmental Health department of Southwalk Council from preventing me blasting this CD on constant replay for another couple of weeks! Not sure if all the ladies are still singing these days, but they sure gave me a whole lot back in the day to say, Yeah, Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so... youtu.be/8Z1zeycNC2U
