When I started Gottumblr, I contacted a large registrar about working me to build a custom domain name search tool that would be the first of its kind. The registrar basically told me to go jump in a lake. They felt that building something like that would be unfair. Not to the consumer but to all registrars. In a phone conversation with someone from this registrar the person told me to build a domain name search tool like the one I want would make things hard for me to do business, and may run into problems with ICANN. (bull crap) I quickly realized what was up and told this person thank you and have a nice day. The bottom line is the registrar new my idea was rock solid but it threatened the bottom line for all registrars. I just wanted to provide consumers the best possible price on domains. We are currently working on our custom domain name search tool and hope to have it live in a few months. Just something I wanted to share. #becauseimaboss
