When I stepped Davao City from the Airport, We were greeted with a warm,cheerful smile from Maria Villar of American European Travel. Everything was arranged well by Maria from hotel,the Three Days Tour package within the City,the Islands and Countryside view of Davao. Our Tour Guide Cocoy was very nice,accomodating,humble and generous. I was amazed and fascinated by the Tribal costume of Davao he wore on the first day and all the days of our tour. One thing about the tour,When the tour guide talk, we should not interrupt the tour guide and should ask questions later.He showed me in the tour,a famous Hotel with an Artwork inside and out called Kublai Gallery .Located in the center of Davao.He shoewed us the New Davao and the Old Davao.Another museum we went and the plaza of the old davao originally occupied by Japanese soldiers during World War II (1941-1945). There are few things I find on the City Tour interesting is a Japanese War Plane The Zero , a real one that crashed on top of the mountain,you can see it. Another thing, is a Giant Sea Clam on top of the mountain, realizing that Davao is over million years old and the said city itself was under the sea,millions of years ago and the proof are the existence of the Giant Clams. Davao has rich history of Spanish,Japanese,American and its Tribal Indeginous tribes. On the 2nd day, we went on Samal Island Tour,The Hagimit Falls, A lake with a lot of rocks and you can swim in the lake w/ crystal clear water.It was believed and spoken by the tribes that once a meteorite hit the ground and created the fallsmand melted a lot of rocks. The countryside tour was Cultural and at the same time Educational.It talks about the environment of the birds and their habitat. Moreover, the preservation of the extinct animals like the Philippine Eagle, different types ,crocodiles, Filipino Owl,Long Tailed Macaque only found in the Philippines. I will come back in Davao to learn more about the culture of the Dabawenyos and the Philippines.
