When I think of Zimbabwes poor service delivery in urban areas and - TopicsExpress

When I think of Zimbabwes poor service delivery in urban areas and how it can be solved, I always try to trace back where the problem began. At independence we inherited a system built by the British for the British, that we do not fully understand, let alone know how to use. That is why you see how we urinate under bus stands, because we think bus stands are toilets. How do you solve such a problem? I do not suggest re-colonization at all, but in my view, there is need for humility in calling back the people who built the system and ask them for advice to fix the system. I see this problem in every African country I visit where they kicked out every former colonial master. Djibouti , for example, is a laughing stock. The last repairs to the city buildings was done when the French were still there. Yet in the midst of all the squalor, you find a grand hotel and presidents palace probably built by the Chinese.
