When I use the word PROGRESS I don’t always mean fat loss or muscular development. Sometimes I mean, A song came on that reminded me of something that rips open my heart and I used it to fuel me rather than break me down. THAT feels like progress to me. Just 60 more seconds in a wall-sit. Just one more set of lunges. Maybe just experiencing the pain of muscle failure and using it as a substitute for real pain. There are places in my life, my past and my present that are tender and vulnerable. FIND THOSE PLACES and use them as a fire starter. There is this one song (and Im sure you have one too) that when I hear, I just feel haunted by the emotions associated with the lyrics, a reminder of a really dark time in my past. Its moments like those, where you grit your teeth and push through and conquer. It could be a pushup or it could simply be telling yourself youre stronger than yesterday. Let fitness be your therapy. You don’t have to be perfect, you have to be alive on the INSIDE.
