When I was 15 years old while baby sitting my younger brothers and sister, while my mother worked in the government office, at lame Deer we lived in a small house down where the government houses were and there was a huge field next to the house with a barb wire fence. My father was over in the Broadus area doing road work, we use to have small airplanes flying over us once in a while spraying the crops for grass hoppers so I wasnt surprised to hear a airplane but it landed right in the lot next to the house and my father stepped out I couldnt believe it. He came into the house and told me he had landed the airplane and he wanted me to cook lunch for the him and the pilot, so I did. The pilot then walked with a empty gas can to the Cady service station and got gas for the airplane. They ate lunch then my father cut the barb wire fence and he pushed the airplane onto the road right where the cars drove on the main road but most of the time then there werent that many cars, he fixed the fence and then got into the airplane and they took off. I dont know how come a police car didnt come by the house and see what was going on but they didnt. Some of you may remember the story and know how my father could start talking to people and become friends with them in no time, my father was quite the character.
