When I was 16yrs old, I got pregnant. Had that baby girl at 17. For the next 20 years, I spent my life trying to prove that I was better than a teenage mom... That I was smarter than that... That I was a good person and still valuable... I graduated from MTSU, something everyone around me was telling me I couldnt do, and then I completed law school... Another thing people told me I couldnt do... I got into relationships based more on what that would make me look like instead of what God wanted for me... All these things never satisfied that broken part of me who had listened to the negativity... And I continued to fail until I let Papa Gods truth about me be my only belief... That I am good, beautiful, worthy... And that baby girl, Courtney, was a gift... No ifs, ands, or buts about it!... And if people who were around me wouldve focused more on building that young mother up instead of ridiculing and turning their noses up, my journey toward Gods truth wouldve produced a lot less pain and suffering in the lives of both my children... I say that to announce that I have a sweet baby grandchild, a girl, on the way... Moniques sweet baby girl... And Im determined that shell, Monique, will NEVER hear that she cant have the exact life of her dreams... That Gods plan is STILL for her very very good... That everything He says about her is the TRUTH! I couldnt be more excited about this blessing for our family! So, congrats Monique and Jordan!!! I love u both!
