When I was a girl, I used to break into my oldest sisters attic - TopicsExpress

When I was a girl, I used to break into my oldest sisters attic bedroom and steal some of the records that she had adopted from an older cousin and never bothered to listen to. I took a few beatings from her for stealing those relics, but one of those records I refused to return and would take it out of hiding and listen to it incessantly when she wasnt home. It was Tim Buckleys Goodbye and Hello and to this day, the sadness of those songs helped me feel and purge so much of my youthful angst, pent up pain, and sorrow. He was already gone by the time I heard his songs, but then came along his son, Jeff, like a haunting ghost of his fathers short lived gift of voice and song. Like his father, Jeff died young, but left behind more of what always seemed the music his father never completed. His version of this song always inspires me, much like his father did in the early years. Music is one of those rare and instantly soul cleansing gifts that allows our souls to meditate and renew, when we let it. Never stop letting it...
