When I was a student at University of Oregon I had a number of excellent Professors, but one in particular stood out. He was passionate about his subject matter and made every class interesting. I went to visit him during his office hours and he acted surprised. He said students never visited him during office hours and he was thrilled to see me. Wed talk at length about course content, current affairs and my career aspirations. I often think of him now in my role as an Instructor at Dental School. The cool thing is now I have a handful of students who visit my office during office hours and I always treat them with the same welcoming spirit I experienced many years ago.
