When I was at Ida Burns Elementary, we had a music teacher who came in once a week, her name was Ms Celestine Havens. I dont know if it was budget, or just the curriculum of the time, but basically, she played piano and we sang for 15 or 20 minutes; the words were on a giant spiral notebook on an easel by the piano. Did she go around to all the other elementary schools, or did they each have a different teacher? We also had to watch a music program on PBS once a week, I dont remember that ladys name. Since we didnt have a TV in each classroom, when it was our turn, we went to the auditorium and watched.
