When I was at the nail salon earlier, I was in the front getting my nails done and noticed in the back that there were two elderly ladies. One was getting a mani/pedi and the other was sitting next to her talking. They made their way to the front to dry her nails when I noticed how frail and seemingly sick the younger looking one was and the older one was helping her walk. I tried not to keep looking at her but it broke my heart to watch her struggling to breath and even sit up. I said to her, It always makes us feel better to get pampered, doesnt it. She smiled ear to ear, slowly nodded her head yes, then whispered, Yes, it does. They were getting ready to leave and I heard that small whisper in my thoughts say, Ask her if you could pray for her. If you know me well, you know that out on the streets Im all over that. Im not afraid to pray in front of anyone. However, to ask a complete stranger in a salon, thats a bit different. I began to tear up and the feeling that I needed to ask her, consumed me! So, as they began to leave and I even bargained with God (I know...arent we funny.) I said, Ok God, if they walk on my side then Ill talk to them but if they walk over the other way, then.... Guess which side they went to. Yep.. my side! I politely introduced myself, told them what I felt God spoke to me and they both began to weep. And, of course, me the cryer, I began to weep too. They were elated, accepted and we prayed. I dont know if Ill ever see them again but Im still so weepy! God humbled me once again and I believe that He touched her! I share this with you to encourage you that God knows what youre going through, He cares and you never know who He will ask to pray for you also. Isnt He amazing!
