When I was diagnosed with my cancer my oncologist wanted me to get a PET scan, my insurance denied it, my dr appealed 4x and they finally agreed to a CAT scan of only my pelvic area. Just this year (1 year after my DX) my dermatologist removed cancerous tissue from my breast area. I know that if I would have had that PET scan it would have been caught earlier. My dr is going to make another attempt to order a PET scan for me.
