When I was in Egypt some years ago, during Operation Cast Lead, I - TopicsExpress

When I was in Egypt some years ago, during Operation Cast Lead, I was surprised by the graphic nature of the television broadcasts, accustomed as I was to North American or European standards. I see nothing has changed; Israeli soldiers marching in and shooting anything and everything that moves, including women and children. File under things you wont see or hear about on CNN, who yesterday reported on Israeli casualties, and then went on to talk about Hamas, and only then mentioned casualties on the Palestinian side, the clear implication being that these are somehow all terrorists responsible for launching rockets at civilian targets. Even if we assume 100% of the men targeted are responsible (highly doubtful) more than 45% of the casualties so far are women and children. The Israeli argument that Palestinians use their own people as human shields is rather suspect in light of a)this video of women and children shot in the street, b)the nature of Gaza, the worlds largest outdoor prison, c)the fact Israels Army HQ is centred in Tel Aviv, d)pretty sure most Israeli military commanders live with their families.
