When I was in college in the 1960s I visited the Green Bank National Radio Astronomy Observatory in West Virginia. (See pictures in comment below). One of the purposes of the HUGE Observatory is to detect radio waves emitted in the universe. In other words one purpose is to detect radio waves from anyone out there who might like us be sending out waves trying to find anyone out there like them. Below I am sharing an article by NY Times best selling author Eric Metaxas. One line from the article speaks to the results of this search for others...Scientists listened with a vast radio telescopic network for signals that resembled coded intelligence and were not merely random.
